The Werewolf’s Deputy – Amy Padilla
There is just something wildly addictive about small-town paranormal romance when it’s done right, and The Werewolf’s Deputy absolutely nails that atmosphere. Between the simmering tension, supernatural politics, protective instincts, and emotional pull between Jonah and Emmett, this book had me hooked almost immediately.
Amy Padilla creates a world that feels immersive without becoming overwhelming, balancing paranormal elements with strong character chemistry and emotional stakes. Jonah’s introduction into the supernatural world makes the story feel exciting and fresh, while Emmett’s protective, calm presence adds so much warmth to the romance. Their chemistry builds naturally, and the connection between them feels intense in all the best ways — protective, vulnerable, and impossible to ignore. The banter, emotional moments, and growing trust between Jonah and Emmett kept me fully invested from beginning to end.
One of my favorite things about this book was how grounded the emotions felt even within the supernatural setting. Jonah’s uncertainty and curiosity mixed perfectly with Emmett’s loyalty and protective instincts, creating a romance that feels both comforting and emotionally engaging. Add in the pack dynamics, found family energy, and supernatural chaos, and this became such a fun paranormal romance read.
