🏍️ Knot Without My Permission – An Emotional, Devastating, Chaotic Omegaverse That Absolutely Destroyed Me

Jenn Bullard did not come to play with Knot Without My Permission.

What starts as a dark motorcycle club omegaverse quickly evolves into a gut-wrenching story about grief, healing, loyalty, found family, and the painful reality that sometimes love arrives right before tragedy.

This book follows Marie, an omega nurse who wants absolutely nothing to do with motorcycle club life, and the scent-matched alphas who refuse to stay away from her: Lore, Wilder, and Storm.

I expected possessive bikers.

I expected spice.

I expected alpha chaos.

I did NOT expect to spend a significant portion of this book emotionally devastated.

And yet here we are.

🐺 Meet Our Tortured Leads

Marie

An omega ER nurse who values independence above everything else. She refuses to blindly accept the choices others make for her and fights constantly against being pulled into the MC lifestyle. Beneath her stubborn exterior is a woman desperate to maintain control of her own future.

Lore

President of Knotted Anarchy MC. Dominant, protective, possessive, and deeply devoted to Marie. Beneath the intimidating biker exterior is a man already planning a future he desperately wants to build with his pack.

Wilder

The loyal second-in-command whose entire world revolves around his club and the people he loves. When tragedy strikes, he’s forced to step into leadership while carrying unimaginable grief.

Storm

Possessive, intense, and emotional beneath his rough exterior. His journey throughout the story became one of my favorite parts as he slowly learns the difference between protecting Marie and controlling her.

📖 The Story

The story wastes absolutely no time punching readers directly in the heart.

Lore and his club become involved in what should have been a routine meeting regarding stolen motorcycle parts. Instead, they walk directly into a betrayal that changes everything.

And when I say everything?

I mean everything.

Lore is shot.

The club barely survives.

Ace dies.

And despite hours of surgery, Lore doesn’t make it.

I genuinely sat staring at my Kindle when this happened.

Because surely the male lead isn’t dead.

Surely this is some kind of fake-out.

Surely—

Nope.

Jenn Bullard looked me dead in the eyes and chose violence.

The emotional fallout that follows becomes the true heart of the story.

Marie barely had time to fully understand her connection to Lore before losing him. Wilder and Storm aren’t just mourning a club president—they’re mourning a brother, a lover, and one of the most important people in their lives.

Watching all three struggle through that grief was absolutely brutal.

The lines that lived rent-free in my head

“Grief is the price we pay for love.”

“We ride together, or not at all.”

“Don’t hide from us.”

These quotes perfectly capture the emotional core of the story. Everything revolves around love, loyalty, loss, and the people who stay beside you when life falls apart.

🌪️ Emotional Rollercoaster & Reading Vibes

Reading Knot Without My Permission feels like being thrown onto the back of a motorcycle and forced to hold on for dear life.

It’s messy.

It’s emotional.

It’s heartbreaking.

And somehow it’s still incredibly hopeful.

The grief in this book feels real.

Not dramatic.

Not exaggerated.

Real.

Marie’s struggle with feeling like she doesn’t deserve to mourn Lore because she hadn’t known him long enough absolutely shattered me.

Meanwhile, Wilder trying to hold the club together while quietly falling apart had me wanting to wrap him in a blanket and protect him forever.

Storm’s growth surprised me the most. Watching him recognize his mistakes and actively work to give Marie back the choices he’d taken from her showed tremendous character development.

🖤 What Completely Wrecked Me

The brownstone scenes.

The moments where Marie clings to Lore’s scent because it’s all she has left.

The conversations about what could have been.

The realization that the future everyone was planning simply no longer exists.

Every single one of those moments hurt.

In the best possible way.
